Bassist, composer, arranger and bandleader attended Berklee College of Music and has been producing music projects in his commercial recording studio SpectraSound for the last 35 years. His music is a fusion of many genres, and appeals to a very wide audience.
McGee has stated “My main goal with this group was to combine jazz with other musical styles and reach a wider audience, spreading appreciation for America’s truly original music.”
Also attended Berklee School of Music where he studied with Mick Goodrick and began pursuing jazz. He met drummer Lenny White through bassist Don Pate and Lenny recommended him to saxophonist Joe Henderson. He also began touring with Stevie Wonder, who he met through trombonist Art Baron around this time. Besides Stevie Wonder and Joe Henderson his credits include Gato Barbieri, Liza Minnelli, Ashford and Simpson, Whitney Houston, Teruo Nakamura, Steve Grossman, Barry Miles, Bob Mintzer, Jason Miles, Manu Dubongo and others. His Broadway resume includes The Lion King, West Side Story, In the Heights, Marlow, Hair, Ave. Q and more.
From Dayton, Ohio Dave met Jim through a road band that settled in to the Lehigh Valley. A very long friendship ensued and Dave has played for Jim on many studio projects. A very accomplished pianist, but also very well versed in electronic keyboards, Dave
was a true asset to several of Jim’s jazz ensembles over the years.
Craig is a master of the Hammond B3 organ, in addition to many synthesizers. He was a resident of Nashville when he was musical director & keyboards man for Eddie Rabbitt, and has performed with many jazz greats, including Phil Woods, Randy Brecker, Larry Coryell, Simone and many others.
Guitarist extraordinaire, he has been performing in and around the Lehigh Valley for many years. He’s performed and recorded with some of the area’s finest musicians and vocalists. He has won numerous LVMA awards for his acoustic guitar performances and also won their award for best jazz CD in 2007. He has 2 solo CDs of original smooth jazz music.
Mike plays them all; Tenor, alto, soprano and Baritone. He’s a senior member of New Kind of Talk and he always brings great ideas to the table. A composer and arranger in his own right, Michael’s ideas always find their way into the band’s repertoire. He’s performed with the Four Tops. The Four Seasons, The Temptations, Larry Coryell and many others.
Danny studied at UNLV and Mercy College while gigging and teaching in NYC until being deployed to Iraq as a musician in 2004. His technical skills and unique sound are the results of formal study and years of experience performing on stages worldwide. He has performed and recorded with Norbert Stachel, Tom Harrel, Mark Murphy, Nestor Torres, Pablo Batista and others.
Hector is an internationally acclaimed percussionist, band leader, arranger, educator and recording artist. He has performed and toured with many notable artists in the world of Latin music, including his own band “Hector Rosado y Orchestra Hache” which he founded in 2001.
